There is a definite Western bias I found hard to get around, even as a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Western (Usui Shiki Ryoho) tradition. Ms. Horan repeats many of the myths that Mrs. Takata propagated in her efforts to make this Japanese spiritual practice palatable to Americans shortly after World War II.

Dr. Horan, an experienced Reiki master describes exactly how Reiki energy works, the way it can be used and the effects that can be achieved with its help.
